Job Description

Mercer Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to lead expert occupational therapy at a premier skilled nursing facility.

Your Daily Impact:

  • Perform detailed evaluations of residents' physical, cognitive, perceptual, and psychosocial abilities, then design and implement personalized treatment plans to restore or maximize function in activities of daily living (ADLs like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding) and instrumental ADLs (IADLs like medication management, home safety, and community reintegration).
  • Guide residents through occupation-based interventions, adaptive equipment training, energy conservation techniques, cognitive strategies, environmental modifications, and fall prevention education to enhance safety, confidence, and quality of life.
  • Track progress rigorously, document outcomes, educate residents, families, and facility staff on techniques and supports, collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team (PT, SLP, nursing, physicians), and adjust plans to promote optimal independence and successful transitions.

What Makes This Role Stand Out:

    • Lead within a collaborative therapy team where your clinical assessments, innovative plans, and insights drive care decisions, program enhancements, and resident-centered results.
    • Access strong professional development through continuing education, mentorship, and opportunities to stay ahead in geriatric OT.
    • Gain deep fulfillment from helping older adults in skilled nursing regain purpose, safety, and autonomy; delivering transformative, evidence-based care in a stable full-time role with a therapy provider committed to quality partnerships.

Comprehensive Full-Time Benefits:

  • Health & Wellness: Premium Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans.
  • Future Planning: 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Career Growth: Annual performance reviews with clear opportunities for salary increases and professional advancement.
  • Continuous Learning: Dedicated CEU reimbursement to support your ongoing professional development.
  • Family & Security: Parental leave, short- and long-term disability insurance, and more!

If you're a licensed OT passionate about comprehensive geriatric rehabilitation, interdisciplinary teamwork, creative problem-solving, and ongoing growth in long-term care, this is your platform to lead impactful change with a dedicated therapy team.
