Job Description
Mercer Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation is hiring a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to deliver expert, evidence-based therapy at a respected skilled nursing facility.
Your Daily Impact:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of speech, language, voice, cognition, and swallowing (dysphagia), then develop and implement individualized treatment plans to restore function, prevent complications like aspiration, and boost overall quality of life.
- Lead targeted sessions focusing on communication recovery (e.g., after stroke or with dementia), cognitive strategies, expressive/receptive language skills, voice/resonance, and safe eating/swallowing techniques; including compensatory strategies, diet modifications, and mealtime training.
- Monitor progress closely, document outcomes, educate residents, families, and facility staff (like nursing assistants), and adjust plans to support independence and safety.
Why Therapists Love Working with Us:
- Thrive in a collaborative therapy environment where your clinical expertise and observations directly influence care decisions, protocols, and resident-centered outcomes.
- Enjoy robust opportunities for professional growth through continuing education, mentorship, and staying current in areas like dysphagia management and cognitive-communication rehab.
- Experience the profound fulfillment of helping older adults regain voice, connection, and safe nutrition in skilled nursing; delivering meaningful, lasting improvements with a stable full-time schedule.
Comprehensive Full-Time Benefits:
- Health & Wellness: Premium Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans.
- Future Planning: 401(k) retirement plan.
- Career Growth: Annual performance reviews with clear opportunities for salary increases and professional advancement.
- Continuous Learning: Dedicated CEU reimbursement to support your ongoing professional development.
- Family & Security: Parental leave, short- and long-term disability insurance, and more!
