Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS)
Location: Austin, TX - must be local and able to be onsite 1-2 days per week
Duration: 6 month contract-to-hire
Compensation: $75-$95/HR
Work schedule: Monday-Friday (8 AM-5PM CST) - onsite 1-2x per week
Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision and 401(k).What You’ll Do- Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure supporting business-critical applications.
- Optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, cost efficiency, security, and availability.
- Build and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible).
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across cloud infrastructure, networking, and application deployments.
- Implement and enforce cloud security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and compliance standards.
- Partner with DevOps, engineering, and business teams to deliver scalable cloud solutions.
- Support cloud-native architectures, including microservices and serverless workloads.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide exceptional service to internal customers.
- Stay current on AWS technologies and recommend improvements to cloud strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of hands-on AWS cloud infrastructure experience (Azure/GCP experience is a plus).
- Strong experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, ECS/EKS, Fargate, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with IaC tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of cloud networking, security best practices, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, NIST, GDPR).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in one or more scripting/programming languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, C#, or Go).
- Proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently across teams.
- AWS and IaC certifications highly preferred.
