Summary: Performs custodial duties, minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that municipal buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Clean and care for buildings and facilities in order to ensure they are maintained in a safe and healthy manner. Main activities include but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vaccuming, shampooing carpet, dusting furniture and fixtures, striping and waxing floors, empting trash receptacles, cleaning facility restrooms, etc. Maintain storage areas and cleaning equipment, materials and supplies in a safe and orderly manner in order to ensure the safety of staff and the public. Maintains buildings by preforming minor and routine painting, plumbing and other related maintenance activities. Reports all major repairs and damages to supervisor. Assists in the setup, break down, clean up and delivery of tables and chairs for meetings and special events.Preform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).


Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with IOS and IOUs. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.


Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.


Certificates. Licenses. Registrations: Valid Texas Driver License in good standing.
