Welcome to Sampson Regional Medical Center!

Sampson Regional Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine physician (MD or DO) to join our Family Medicine Residency Program as Core Faculty. This is an ideal opportunity for physicians passionate about teaching, mentorship, and community-based care, combining clinical practice with resident education in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Schedule & Workload
  • Teaching/Preceptorship: ~70%

  • Clinical Practice: ~30% outpatient continuity clinic

  • Hospital/back-up rotation: 1-2 weeks every 6-8 weeks (Family Medicine inpatient service, including peds/newborn)

  • Daily outpatient volume: 20-25 patients

Support & Leadership
  • Join a growing, community-based Family Medicine Residency Program

  • Balanced academic and clinical role with meaningful resident interaction

  • Opportunities to develop administrative and leadership skills

  • Access to hospital specialties: General Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Primary Care, and Urology

Candidate Qualifications
  • BC/BE Family Medicine (MD or DO)

  • Experience in inpatient and outpatient settings

  • Comfortable with joint injections, dermatologic procedures, OMT

  • Interest in medical education and mentoring residents

  • Obstetrics experience welcomed but not required

  • Passion for rural and community-based medicine
