Job Description
Content Designer – Marketing Department Job Summary

DebtBlue, LLC is a fast‑growing debt settlement organization committed to helping individuals and families regain financial stability. We serve with integrity, compassion, and excellence-helping people restore peace of mind and move toward a stronger financial future. If you value meaningful work and want to make an impact, you'll feel at home here.

DebtBlue is looking for a creative, curious, and digitally fluent Content Designer to join our marketing team. This is a blended role built for someone who leads with strong writing instincts and brings working knowledge of web design and UI/UX principles to the table.

You will be the voice behind our digital content - crafting blog posts, social media copy, video scripts, and ad content that helps everyday people understand and navigate debt relief. Alongside your writing, you will support the presentation of that content online, contributing to landing pages, web copy layout, and basic UI updates using our CMS and design tools.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a strong portfolio, a hunger to grow, and the ability to move fluidly between a writing brief and a Figma file.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation (Primary Focus)

  • Write high-quality B2C content including blog posts, educational articles, website and landing page copy, email campaigns, and organic social media
  • Script and outline short-form digital video for social platforms, paid ads, and website use
  • Record basic on-camera or voiceover video content using in-office equipment or smartphone
  • Repurpose written content into video-friendly and social-first formats
  • Optimize all written content for SEO, readability, and conversion
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice that is empathetic, trustworthy, and compliant
  • Translate complex financial topics into clear, engaging, human content

Web Design & UI Support (Secondary Focus)

  • Update and publish content across the company website using CMS platforms (WordPress or similar)
  • Support the design and layout of landing pages and campaign pages with an eye for clean, user-friendly UI
  • Apply basic UI/UX principles to ensure content is visually clear, well-structured, and mobile-optimized
  • Collaborate with designers on page layouts, visual hierarchy, and content placement
  • Assist with light front-end edits including HTML/CSS formatting for web content
  • Use tools such as Figma or Canva to mockup content layouts or social graphics

Social Media & Channel Support

  • Support organic social channels with engaging, on-brand, compliant content
  • Optimize content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook
  • Assist with community engagement and supply copy and creative concepts for paid social
  • Stay current on platform trends while aligning with brand and regulatory standards

Compliance & Collaboration

  • Ensure all consumer-facing content meets internal brand standards and regulatory guidance
  • Collaborate with marketing leadership, legal/compliance, and creative teams
  • Revise content as needed to meet compliance and disclosure requirements

Note: This role does not require advanced video production, motion graphics, or full-stack development skills.

Core Competencies
  • Empathetic Communicator: Translates complex or emotionally sensitive topics into clear, motivating content without sounding sales-heavy
  • Content Strategist: Can plan, prioritize, and execute content against business goals with minimal oversight
  • Digital Eye: Understands how content lives on screen - layout, hierarchy, and user experience inform every piece of writing
  • Data-Aware: Uses performance metrics to evaluate what is working and adjust accordingly
  • Compliance-Minded: Understands the importance of accuracy, disclosures, and operating within regulated environments
  • Video-Comfortable: Can structure hooks, pacing, and calls to action for short-form video; willing to be on camera
  • Collaborative: Communicates clearly about timelines, scope, and revisions across teams

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related field - or equivalent portfolio experience
  • 1–3 years of content writing, content marketing, or digital content experience (internships and freelance work count)
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong writing AND at least basic web or design work
  • Hands-on experience with a CMS platform (WordPress, Webflow, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of basic HTML and CSS for web content formatting
  • Familiarity with SEO fundamentals and content optimization
  • Comfort scripting and recording basic short-form video content
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Figma, Adobe XD, or other UI/UX design tools
  • Exposure to UI/UX principles, wireframing, or user-centered design thinking
  • Graphic design skills using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics or similar content performance tools
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, or regulated content environments is a plus
