Job Overview
We are seeking experienced Lead Firefighters and Firefighters to perform emergency response duties, including fire suppression, rescue operations, and medical emergency care. This position is responsible for maintaining readiness, operating firefighting equipment, conducting inspections, participating in training programs, and supporting departmental emergency management activities. Lead Firefighters provide guidance and mentorship to other personnel while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and operational standards. Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain a security clearance and maintain it as required. Clearance level is to be determined. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in fire service, including emergency response and firefighting operations
- Experience in fire suppression, rescue operations, and basic emergency medical care
- Knowledge of firefighting equipment, techniques, and safety procedures
- Experience in performing inspections, maintenance, and testing of fire apparatus and equipment
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Experience Preferences
- Experience in a municipal or county fire department
- Leadership experience as a senior or lead firefighter
- Experience with public education and fire prevention programs
- Familiarity with ISO and NFPA standards
Physical Requirements
- Ability to respond to emergency incidents under high-stress conditions
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and
prolonged periods of activity
- Ability to use personal protective equipment and operate fire apparatus safely
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent recognized certification
Education Preferences
- Firefighter I & II certification
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification or equivalent
