American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Direct Observation Unit position at a short-term acute care teaching hospital in Florida, requiring strong vasoactive drip experience and PCU background.

• Works in a Medical/Telemetry Clinical Decision Unit (2 East) within a 332-bed short-term acute care teaching hospital
\n
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
\n
• Telemetry and PCU/step-down patient population
\n
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
\n
• Floating required to all 3 system hospitals within approximately 20 miles (Martin North, Martin South, and Martin Tradition)
\n
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
\n
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active FL or Compact RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
\n
• Current certifications required: AHA or American Red Cross BLS and ACLS; NIHSS must be obtained prior to start
\n
• Minimum 18 months of telemetry and/or acute care experience required; 2 years preferred
\n
• PCU experience required
\n
• Strong vasoactive drip experience required
\n
• Proficiency in telemetry skills including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
\n
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
\n
• Epic EMR experience required
\n
• Two supervisory references (direct supervisor, manager, ANM, or director) required for consideration
\n
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
\n

• 26-week contract — length is non-negotiable
\n
• This is a smoke-free facility; all candidates must be nicotine-free — a negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine (cotinine) is required
\n
• EKG and pharmacology tests are administered during orientation, with a maximum of 2 attempts each — travelers who do not pass will be cancelled; study materials are provided
\n
• Time-sensitive online modules must be completed prior to start and are non-billable (average 6–15 hours)
\n
• Former permanent or per diem employees of Cleveland Clinic must have an end date at least 1 year prior to the start of this assignment
\n
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront — RTO requests added after submission will likely not be approved
\n
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
