Job description:

Works together with the SST press brake operator to perform the following work:

• Gather cut flat sheets from the CNC Punch or Laser Cutter according to the Job Order Packets.
• Assists the Operator with tooling changes and part set up.
• Assists the Operator with part holding, alignment, and sheet following support.
• Marks materials
• Stacks bent parts according to the Job Order Packet.
• Stages materials for welding
• Organizes cleans and maintains tooling storage.
• Operates press brake under the direction of the Press Brake Operator/Trainer.

Other Job Responsibilities/Duties:

Metal Shearing/Cutting

• Receive directives from the department supervisor.
• Selects and pull materials according the to the Shop Order and check material thicknesses using micrometers or calipers.
• Measure cuts using standard measuring devices such as rulers/tape measure.
• Cut/Shear sheets of aluminum, steel and stainless steel using the hydraulic shear.
• Deburr sharp edges.
• Collect cut parts, mark/identify the parts according to print and associate work orders.
• Present cut materials to the punching cell, and/or bending cell.
• Maintain paperwork according procedure.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must be able to use measuring devices such as tape measures and thickness gauges.
• Must be able to read, write and understand written and oral instruction in English.
• Able to check the quality of work performed and insure parts are conforming to prints ore specifications.
• Reliable
• Must be able to physically perform the job including standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending and lifting.
• Able to wear required PPE including safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves and protective clothing.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Able to work with others in a team setting or independently with instruction.
• Overtime is required based on business needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit; communicate in person and by phone
• Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in a non‐temperature‐controlled manufacturing environment
• Ability to wear required PPE such as eye protection and protective clothing
