What the Mechanical Engineer Will Work On
You’ll design mechanical and plumbing systems across a wide variety of project types, including:
- Civic and government
- Commercial and office buildings
- Multifamily and senior living
- K-12 schools
- Healthcare and specialty environments
- Water and wastewater infrastructure (a plus, not required)
You won’t be siloed or specialized in only one project type. Rather you’ll gain exposure to a wide variety of projects, systems, and project sizes, making you a well-rounded and valuable engineer.

What the Mechanical Engineer Will Do:
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial and institutional projects
- Perform load calculations, system selection, and equipment sizing
- Develop construction documents using Revit (primarily) and AutoCAD
- Coordinate with architects and multidisciplinary teams
- Support projects from concept through construction
- Participate in client meetings and project discussions
- Mentor junior staff (if interested)
About You:
- 6-20+ years of mechanical engineering
- Licensed PE (or an EIT on track to become a PE)
- Experience with HVAC and plumbing design
- Revit skills (AutoCAD familiarity is a plus)
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
- Comfortable designing systems with minimal oversight
- Experience with K-12, civic, multifamily, or water/wastewater is a plus
