Job Title: Event Staff – Servers & Bartenders (Part-Time, On-Call)

Location: Ventura County, Santa Barbara, CA, Malibu County, Los Angeles

Pay Rate: $26 hourly.


About the Role

We are seeking dependable, professional, and service-oriented individuals to join our team as Event Servers and Bartenders. This is a part-time, event-to-event position supporting a variety of catered events. Team members are responsible for creating a welcoming guest experience, assisting with set-up and breakdown, and delivering attentive hospitality throughout each event.


Event Servers

Event Servers support the successful execution of catered events by assisting with set-up, food and beverage service, and breakdown. Servers ensure guests receive professional, courteous service and represent the company with hospitality and attention to detail.

Server Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Assist with set-up and breakdown of event spaces, including tables, chairs, linens, décor, food and beverage stations, and service equipment.
  • Provide food and beverage service, including tray passing, plated meal service, and drink refills.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of proper table settings, flatware, and glassware.
  • Greet guests warmly and ensure a high standard of service.
  • Monitor cleanliness of service areas, clear tables, and replenish as needed.
  • Assist with loading/unloading catering vans, handling equipment and food carefully.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible service regulations.
  • Support the event team in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

Event Bartenders

Event Bartenders are responsible for bar set-up, preparation, and service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, guest interaction, and breakdown of bar equipment and supplies. Bartenders ensure a safe, efficient, and hospitable environment while upholding service standards.

Bartender Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Set up and break down bar equipment, supplies, and products according to company standards.
  • Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages with consistent quality and presentation.
  • Maintain knowledge of beverage menus and communicate ingredients/dietary information to guests.
  • Greet guests, take beverage orders, and deliver professional, attentive service.
  • Verify guest identification and comply with alcohol service laws; refuse service when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar during service.
  • Prepare garnishes and mixers following food safety standards.
  • Provide tableside wine service as required.
  • Assist with light food service or general event support when bar service is not active.
  • Assist with loading/unloading bar-related items at event sites.
  • Anticipate guest needs and communicate issues promptly to the Event Captain or Manager.

Qualifications & Skills (Servers & Bartenders)

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and detail-oriented.
  • Previous catering, banquet, fine dining, or bartending experience preferred.
  • Bartenders: prior bartending experience in catering, banquet, or high-volume environments required; strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, and beer.
  • Must have (or be able to obtain) a valid Food Handlers Card; Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification required for bartenders.

Schedule

  • Part-time, on-call; hours vary by event schedule.
  • Shifts are primarily evenings and weekends.
  • Flexibility is essential as schedules vary week to week.
  • Must maintain a reliable acceptance rate of scheduled shifts to remain active on the roster.

Travel Requirements

  • Events are primarily in Ventura County and Santa Barbara, with occasional travel outside the area.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
