Job Description
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse where you will play an integral role in ensuring efficient patient flow and comprehensive care. You will work closely with physicians and staff to prepare for patient visits, administer medications, and update electronic medical records (EMR). This position offers an opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients in an outpatient setting.
Responsibilities
- Check the daily schedule for patient volume and prepare accordingly.
- Organize medications for doctors to administer.
- Update electronic medical records (EMR) and prescription refills.
- Review patient cases and respond to questions.
- Employ appropriate and timely use of Tasking in EHR.
- Function as the liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
- Ensure all patients are correctly identified prior to providing and documenting care.
- Provide referrals and consult orders in a timely manner in the PMS and EHR.
- Check and maintain logs for emergency equipment according to policy.
- Collect and accurately label lab specimens according to departmental guidelines.
- Obtain and document vital signs accurately in EHR.
- Demonstrate telephone triage protocols and document in EHR.
- Schedule appointments accurately according to department guidelines.
- Review and update medication lists in EHR, demonstrating understanding of prescription control procedures.
- Enter orders and schedule appointments in the Practice Management System (PMS) and EHR.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in patient care and electronic medical records (EMR).
- An Associate's degree is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- A valid NJ State Nursing License.
- Active BLS certification.
- 1-2 years of experience is preferred, but not required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in neurology, outpatient, and pediatrics is beneficial.
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certifications are acceptable.
Work Environment
Work in a Pediatric Neurology Office where 90% of the work is administrative, including triage and EMR updates, with 10% clinical duties. The position covers a maternity leave from June to September, with potential for permanent placement. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, ensuring a 40-hour work week, with specific hours on Monday & Wednesday (8:30 AM - 7 PM) and flexible hours on other days. Located in Florham Park, occasional travel may be required. The role requires physical mobility, strength for lifting, and endurance for prolonged standing and typing. Engage in a supportive environment with access to various specialties such as neurology, physical therapy, and pain management.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $51.00/hr.
