Shift Details
- Shift Options: Day, Evening, Night
- Shift Timing: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Hours per Shift: 11.5 hours
- Shifts per Week: 3
- Total Weekly Hours: 34.5 hours
- Schedule: Every other weekend required
Job Summary
A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Telemetry Technician to provide continuous cardiac monitoring in a clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ECG interpretation, arrhythmia recognition, and the ability to respond effectively to critical cardiac events, including pediatric monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform continuous ECG monitoring and accurate rhythm interpretation
- Analyze ECG strips to identify arrhythmias and life-threatening changes
- Assist during emergency situations, including code response and rhythm documentation
- Perform electrocardiograms with proper electrode placement
- Respond promptly to monitor alarms and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and care teams
- Enter and verify orders within electronic systems
- Retrieve and report laboratory results to clinical staff
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation per facility standards
- Operate and manage telemetry and monitoring equipment safely and efficiently
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Telemetry Technician Certification (required)
- Minimum experience as a Telemetry/Monitor Technician
- Pediatric telemetry monitoring experience (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (e.g., American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- Completion of a Dysrhythmia course
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a hospital or acute care setting
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Additional Requirements
- Must have prior hands-on experience as a Telemetry or Monitor Technician
- Pediatric telemetry experience is mandatory
- Must be available to work every other weekend
