Description of the Position (Purpose of the Position):
The Secretary of Academic Affairs is responsible for the coordination of the Campus Affairs Board as outlined in the most updated version of the Student Government Association bylaws.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Co-Chair the Campus Affairs Board, facilitating meetings, supporting team members, and other applicable tasks.

Coordinate the operation of the Board to fulfill the organization’s mission under SGA, namely, relaying student concerns, perceptions, and interests to the governing bodies of St. Olaf College on a triannual basis.

In collaboration with the Financial Officer, administer SGA allocation monies assigned to the Campus Affairs budget in accordance with the SGA Constitution, the Bylaws, and all other SGA financial guidelines.

Recruit and select a team through an application and interview process.

Serve as the liaison between the St. Olaf Faculty, the Senate, and the student body and report to the Senate on all Faculty meetings.

Assist in the training of the incoming SGA Secretary of Academic Affairs in collaboration with the incoming SGA President and Vice President, including the completion of a transition report.

Attend SGA Executive Team and Senate Meetings meetings as well as additional meetings as requested.

Maintain three weekly office hours in the Office of Student Activities (BC 108)
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)

Must be elected by the student body in the spring semester prior to their served term.

Must be of sophomore standing or higher at the time in which the position is assumed.

Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Must not be found in violation of any St. Olaf policies.
