Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (required)

Active Massachusetts PTA license in good standing

Experience using Net Health software preferred

Position Overview
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) delivers skilled therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). The role focuses on assisting residents in improving mobility, strength, balance, and overall physical function while maintaining a supportive and professional care environment.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Care

Carry out prescribed physical therapy treatments to help reduce pain, restore mobility, and improve functional ability.

Provide therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT).

Assist with implementing and adjusting treatment plans according to PT guidance.

Track and document resident progress including strength, mobility, and functional performance.

Monitor patient responses to therapy sessions and report updates to the supervising therapist.

Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team (IDT) to support positive resident outcomes.

Offer education and guidance to residents, families, and caregivers regarding therapy goals and exercises.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory guidelines.
Training & Education
-
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning conferences.

Assist in training and supporting Restorative Nursing staff and caregivers.

Provide educational support for residents and families regarding therapy programs and exercises.

Support clinical education opportunities for PTA students when applicable.

Maintain compliance with required training, certifications, and continuing education standards.
