It teaches you how to work with and lead others, all while making a difference in your community this summer.
Summer Camp Counselor ($14/hour)
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Provides direct supervision of campers
- Leads group of camper activities
- Prior experience preferred (CIT/Jr. Counselor/Youth Leader)
- Preferred availability Monday-Friday 9am-4pm
Activity Instructor ($15/hour)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Responsible for developing curriculum in assigned area
- Positions include: arts and crafts, nature, music, science, sports, outdoor education
- Supports special events activities
- Activity management
- Prior childcare experience preferred
- Preferred availability Monday-Friday 9am-4pm
Senior Counselor ($15/hour)
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- May provide direct supervision of campers
- May lead a group of camper activities
- May serve as a resource and unit leader/lead counselor for other team members (provide breaks for counselors, etc.)
- May have administrative duties
- Program planning responsibilities
- Prior childcare experience preferred
- Preferred availability Monday-Friday 9am-4pm
Requirements

Must be available to attend mandatory trainings in May, and available for a majority of the summer May through August.

As a childcare professional at an ACA accredited YMCA Summer Camp you will ensure that our campers are not only safe, but are enjoying a developmentally, and age appropriate, experience. You will help them grow, make friends, and inspire them to do things they never thought possible.
You will help create in an environment that is nurturing and supportive, while supervising between 5–15 campers, as you engage in decision-making, behavior management, conflict resolution and having fun — all necessary leadership skills for today’s job market.
