SUMMARY:
The Fraud Data Analyst analyzes transactional data to detect suspicious activity, supports investigations through reporting and root cause analysis, and develops dashboards and insights that strengthen fraud prevention and detection across the credit union.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Business, or related field required or a minimum of eight years related experience required
- Minimum three years’ experience in fraud analytics within banking, credit union, or fintech environments required
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Excel (advanced), and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) required
- Familiarity with data platforms such as Snowflake or Oracle required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to fraud prevention
JOB DUTIES:
- Analyzes transactional data to identify patterns indicative of fraud, including fraud rings and emerging schemes
- Performs root cause analysis following fraud events and recommend preventive measures
- Develops and maintains dashboards and reports in Power BI, Tableau, and Excel to monitor fraud trends and KPIs
- Utilizes SQL (basic to intermediate) for data extraction and manipulation from systems such as Snowflake and Oracle
- Builds and optimizes BI solutions to support fraud strategy and operational decision-making
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights and improve fraud controls
- Identifies gaps in fraud detection processes and propose enhancements
- Supports forecasting and trend analysis to anticipate fraud risks
- Performs other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisor

The good faith range for this position is $28.50 to $34.25 hourly. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. The salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
