Small Engine Mechanic - Full-time

We are seeking a detail-oriented Small Engine Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of outdoor power equipment. From lawnmowers and chainsaws to generators and snowblowers, you will be the go-to expert for ensuring our customers' gear runs at peak performance. • Diagnostics: Identify mechanical, fuel, and electrical issues in 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines.

• Maintenance: Perform seasonal tune-ups, including oil changes, spark plug replacement, air filter cleaning, and blade sharpening.

• Repairs: Rebuild carburetors, replace recoil starters, fix ignition systems, and perform internal engine repairs.

• Testing: Test-run equipment post-repair to ensure all safety features and performance specs are met.

• Parts Management: Look up parts diagrams and maintain an organized inventory of common components.

• Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of fuel systems (carbureted and EFI), ignition timing, and compression.

• Efficiency: Ability to manage a steady workflow of repair tickets during peak seasons.

• Attention to Detail: Precision in cleaning and assembling small, intricate engine components.

• Customer Service: Ability to clearly explain repair needs and estimates to customers.

• Proven experience working on brands like Honda, Stihl, Husqvarna, Briggs & Stratton, or Toro.

• Familiarity with pneumatic tools, torque wrenches, and diagnostic meters.

• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs) onto work benches.

• Relevant vocational training or manufacturer certifications (EETC) are a plus.
