SummaryResponsible for assisting in preparing and cooking food items in specific sections or stations within the kitchen.

Essential Functions
-Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
-Assist at a specific station or section within the kitchen, such as grill, sauté, pantry, or pastry.
-Utilize a variety of cooking techniques, such as grilling, frying, baking, roasting, and sautéing, to prepare dishes.
-Assist in the execution of menu items, ensuring that dishes are prepared accurately, consistently, and with attention to detail.
-Follow proper food safety and sanitation practices to ensure a clean and hygienic working environment.
-Keep workstations, equipment, and utensils clean, organized, and sanitized.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Culinary Arts preferred

Line Cook or Related Experience 1-2 years preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, knife skills, seasoning, and flavor profiles.
- Understanding of food safety principles, including proper food handling, storage, temperature control, and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills for working in a team-oriented kitchen environment.
- Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects and working with kitchen equipment.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, handle high-pressure situations, and solve problems on the spot.
