The Payer Enrollment Coordinator is responsible for timely completion of initial and re-credentialing insurance enrollments for all providers (licensed independent practitioners (LIP), other licensed or certified practitioners (OLCP), and other clinical staff (OCS)). Additionally, this role will research payer credentialing and billing issues and work in conjunction with the Revenue Cycle Manager to identify and resolve issues with provider enrollments. The Payer Enrollment Coordinator collaborates with human resources, clinic leadership, providers, and payers to ensure a smooth and successful credentialing process.
This position is full-time and qualifies for hybrid-remote work after an in-office training period at our Hood River clinic location. This position will require relocation to the Hood River, Oregon or in the surrounding area.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- 1 to 2 years of recent experience in medical, dental, or behavioral health operations (billing, credentialing, or enrollment).
- Rapidly learn, absorb, and follow business rules, payer requirements, and internal workflows.
- Use strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
- Work effectively with a diverse workforce in a multicultural environment.
- Work well in a team environment while also being independent and self-directed.
- Maintain initiative and professionalism in a fast-paced environment; remain calm and effective in urgent situations.
- Follow established escalation pathways when needed.
- Produce accurate, high-volume work while meeting timelines and due dates.
- Understand HIPAA, privacy laws, and other applicable regulations.
- Adapt to a dynamic and changing community health care environment.
- Travel to OCH multi-site health centers as requested; maintain a valid driver�s license.
- Identify learning needs and goals and develop a plan to meet them.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer service orientation.
- Comfortable communicating frequently with providers and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree
- FQHC/RHC experience
- 2+ years completing the provider enrollment process with insurance companies.
- Experience using JIRA and/or EPIC or another EHR
- Certification in credentialing

Compensation:
- Hourly/Non-exempt: Starting at $23.00 per hour, increases depending on experience.
- Bilingual Differential: Additionally, we offer $0.75 per hour as compensation for bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish.
