Job Summary
The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for monitoring inventory supplies s, maintaining PAR levels in accordance with policies and regulations to ensure accurate supply levels. Inventory Specialist ensures that items are ordered timely, stock is rotated and outdated products are minimized.
Responsibilities
Maintains the supply room through demonstration of knowledge of Lean 5S principals: Sort – Set in order – Shine – Standardize and Sustain. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of the Merge Inventory Management Software by setting PAR levels, adjust stock level when stock removed or added, run reports daily on usage, adds new items and deletes/inactivates obsolete items. Identifies and ensures prompt ordering of supply items utilizing the Merge System and through the 2 bin/Kanban processes. Assess special order items on a scheduled basis and orders appropriately to prevent shortages in these supplies. Collaborates with Staff, Physicians and Management Team regarding changes in volume, new procedures and new technology to identify potential changes in supplies. Collaborates with vendors, purchasing and management regarding replacement items, no cross Stents and product failures. Collaborates with other departments to ensure inventory processes are maintained. Ensures that vendors follow established procedures for introduction of new supplies to the facility. Assist management with enforcing that all vendors have the appropriate identification while in the department. Ensures all paperwork is compliant and that proper forms are utilized. Reviews patient supply charges daily and processes for billing. Collaborates with Vendors, Purchasing and Management Team to effectively manage and track consignment stock. Preforms routine inventory of consignment. Prepares and submits monthly reports for accounting. Conducts inventory counts according to established MGH policies.
