Job Skills / Requirements

Main Duties of a Security Flex Officer:

1. Fill in for other officers:
2. • Cover shifts when regular officers are sick, on vacation, or otherwise unavailable.
   • Often called on short notice to fill gaps in coverage.
3. Work at multiple sites:
4. • Trained to work at various client locations — such as office buildings, warehouses, hotels etc.
   • Must be able to adapt quickly to different environments, procedures, and site-specific rules.
5. Patrol and monitor premises:
6. • Conduct foot or golf cart patrols.
   • Monitor surveillance systems.
   • Check for suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security breaches.
7. Control access:
8. • Verify credentials.
   • Enforce building entry/exit procedures.
   • Lock/unlock doors at specified times.
9. Incident response:
10. • Respond to alarms, emergencies, or incidents (such as fights, fires, or medical events).
    • Write detailed reports and notify law enforcement or emergency services when needed.
11. Customer service:
12. • Assist visitors, employees, and tenants with directions, questions, or concerns.
    • Represent the client or security company in a professional way.

Special Traits Needed:

• Flexibility with scheduling and assignments.
• Strong communication skills.
• Quick learner, since each site may have different procedures.
• Ability to work independently or with little supervision.
