Position Summary
MaineHealth is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to join our Primary Care team in Lincolnville. This role supports providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals and families across the lifespan. Family medicine practices focus on comprehensive, preventive, and ongoing care for patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and documentation
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Administer medications and vaccines per protocol
- Perform clinical tasks such as EKGs, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure an efficient clinical environment
- Provide patient education and support care coordination
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
- License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred or achieved within one year of eligibility. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement) Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
- Experience: One year of experience as a Medical Assistant (without certification) or as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant; or 6 months of experience as a certified Medical Assistant.
