Position Overview
Red Sun Technology is seeking experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Tester / Test Automation Engineer with a strong background in developing and executing test cases for web applications in both manual and automated environments. The successful candidate will collaborate with developers and business analysts to ensure application stability, security, and performance while documenting defects and recommending improvements throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Required Experience
- 10+ years experience programming and developing test scripts to test web applications
- 5+ years using automated testing platforms/tools
- Proven experience conducting manual (non-automated) application testing
- Hands-on experience with Kanban, Scrum, and Agile methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with business analysts and developers
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience building test cases and running tests using tools such as:
- ▪ Tricentis Tosca
- ▪ Worksoft
- ▪ Microfocus ALM
- Familiarity with application security testing tools like WebInspect
- Experience standing up a new automated testing platform
- Experience testing RESTful APIs and using tools like Postman, SoapUI, etc.
- Proven ability to plan, organize, and document test solutions and work assignments
- Strong troubleshooting and bug isolation skills
- Experience writing functional/technical specs, design flows, and system blueprints
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 for documentation and reporting
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Software Engineering, or a related field
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with development teams to understand feature changes and define test scope
- Create detailed test strategies, test cases, and test data for manual and automated scenarios
- Perform integration and functional testing across application layers and systems
- Document and report defects clearly, including reproduction steps and root cause insights
- Conduct performance and security testing, identifying vulnerabilities and performance bottlenecks
- Validate application behavior across multiple browsers and user types
- Maintain documentation of test results, deviations, and resolutions
- Develop test summary reports and offer insights and improvement recommendations
- Assist in standing up and maintaining test automation frameworks and tools
- Support regression, compatibility, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Ensure test coverage aligns with defined success criteria and business requirements
