We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Phlebotomist to join our team. This role is ideal for a skilled phlebotomy professional who excels in both patient care and team leadership. Responsibilities:

  • Collects specimens in a timely manner and according to established procedures.
  • Communicates appropriately with clients, patients, and coworkers.
  • Communicates all unresolved problems immediately to supervisor.
  • Calls clients to confirm handwritten orders, obtains accurate billing information, dx codes, UPIN information, etc. when needed
  • Participates on teams and special projects.
  • Performs basic clerical duties, i.e. filing, faxing, preparing mail, data entry, etc.
  • Delegates phlebotomy priorities and other non-urgent tasks to staff as needed
  • Trains, mentors, and orients new employees as assigned.
  • Processes and/or packages specimens according to testing specifications.
  • Investigates problems and documents occurrences appropriately in a timely manner
  • Assists and works with staff to ensure compliance with dress codes, policies and safety regulations. Immediately reports any violations to supervisor.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, primarily daylight hours between 6:30AM-5PM (8 hour shifts), but may need to work other shifts as need to train new staff members etc. Primarily located at our outreach location in Washington, PA near the hospital, but may have to travel to the other locations in Cecil, Peters, and the hospital's main lab.


  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years experience.
  • Medical terminology knowledge and laboratory information system experience is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously.
  • Must interact with other departments.

  • Act 34
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Driver's License
