Pay Range: $40.00 – $45.00 per hour
Status: Part-Time
The primary purpose of the Registered Nurse (RN) position is to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility during the assigned shift. The RN ensures that nursing services are provided in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies to maintain the highest level of quality care for residents. This role works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support safe, effective, and compassionate care.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Functions
Assist the Director of Nursing in directing the daily nursing operations of the facility
Ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
Participate in the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures
Complete required reports, charting, documentation, and medical forms accurately
Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents
Participate in facility surveys conducted by regulatory agencies
Maintain confidentiality of resident information and Protected Health Information (PHI)
Nursing Care Functions
Provide direct nursing care and clinical supervision to nursing staff during assigned shift
Monitor resident conditions and report significant changes to physicians and leadership
Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure compliance with physician orders
Review nurses’ notes and documentation for accuracy and completeness
Conduct rounds to observe resident condition and ensure quality of care
Assist in managing seriously ill residents and coordinating care with physicians
Notify physicians and family members of changes in resident condition
Ensure residents receive appropriate care in accordance with their individualized care plans
Personnel & Leadership Functions
Supervise nursing staff including LVNs and Certified Nursing Assistants during the shift
Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet resident care needs
Delegate assignments appropriately and monitor staff performance
Promote teamwork and maintain a positive work environment
Assist with staff coaching, education, and performance evaluations
Ensure staff follow facility policies including infection control and safety procedures
Care Planning & Assessment
Participate in the development and review of resident care plans
Ensure nursing staff follow care plans when providing resident care
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated resident care
Assist with resident assessments and documentation as required
Safety & Infection Control
Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control protocols
Monitor staff adherence to proper hand hygiene and PPE usage
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in nursing work areas
Participate in safety, infection control, and emergency preparedness programs
This position assists with the supervision and coordination of nursing staff during the assigned shift.
QualificationsEducation and Experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Minimum two years of nursing experience preferred, ideally in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
Experience with rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices preferred
Certificates, Licenses & Registrations
Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
Current CPR certification
Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
Must maintain all required continuing education and licensing requirements
Strong leadership and supervisory abilities
Ability to make independent clinical decisions when necessary
Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and physicians
Knowledge of long-term care regulations and nursing standards of practice
Ability to maintain professionalism in high-stress situations
Ability to move throughout the facility during the workday
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds
Ability to assist residents when necessary
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift
The RN works throughout the facility including nursing stations, resident rooms, treatment areas, and clinical workspaces. The environment includes frequent interaction with residents, families, staff, and medical providers in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
