Communicates effectively with a broad range of patients, community and organizational members.

 

Responsibilities Include: 

 

  • Schedules appointments and handles referrals for patients per providers request to outside entities. 
  • Handles referral in-house testing with contracted facilities and specialists.
  • Completes referrals for various insurances.
  • Handles emergency and urgent referrals, when requested.
  • Receives all test reports and letters from specialists and notifies the providers. Alerts the provider of any urgent reports. 
  • Sends all pertinent information for appointments.
  • Contacts patients with information regarding referrals and any specific instructions 
  • Communicates with all provider relations representatives and contacts them with any concerns, questions, problems or needs.
  • Documents referrals on patients medical records.
  •  Documents needed testing or follow up on procedures and testing. 
  • Tracks diagnostic tests and reports. 
  • Communicates effectively with a broad range of patients, community and organizational members. Must be highly organized and able to multi-task as necessary. Must be able to perform efficient and accurate processing of patient visits including insurance verification, scheduling and data entry while maintaining positive patient/visitor relations.
