Position Summary

 

     

 

To assist the Program Director and School Age Teacher in the operations of the before and after care program for school age children; implementing activities to ensure the Caliday mission, vision and values are upheld, and the children are provided with a safe and learning environment.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Manages the program space, ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
  • Provides a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents and visitors.
  • Assists in the maintenance of an attractive and informative Parent Table that is updated regularly.
  • Implements activities that are age-appropriate and stimulating in accordance with the provided Caliday curriculum; manages effective classroom management.
  • Assists in the supervision of children during all activities; counsels children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.
  • Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.
  • Maintains open and effective communication with the team, parents and school community.
  • Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment is appropriately maintained.
  • Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the program and works with the School Age Teacher and Program Director to resolve.
  • Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.
