Peer Support Advocate Specialist
Job Summary:
Rise2Growth is seeking a compassionate and experienced Peer Support Specialist to join our team in New York, NY. As a key member of our organization, you will provide emotional support and guidance to individuals and families who are experiencing challenges related to mental health and wellness. Utilizing your personal experience and knowledge of recovery, you will empower others to navigate their own journeys and develop skills for sustainable living.
Responsibilities:
• Provide peer support services to individuals and families, including one-on-one sessions, group discussions.
• Share your personal experience and knowledge of recovery to help others develop coping strategies and build resilience
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other support staff to ensure comprehensive care and support
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of services provided
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
• Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment
Requirements:
• Must have a certificate in a related field (e.g., mental health, substance abuse, etc.) and a minimum of 1 year of experience
• Personal experience with mental health or wellness challenges is strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
• Strong emotional stability and ability to manage stress
• Availability to work part-time and full-time hours, including evenings and weekends
