Job Summary


Practice Administrator position requires collaboration across the system to achieve strategic goals and is responsible for the business operational leadership and initiatives. This executive management position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall clinical and business operations for the clinics and satellite facilities that are assigned within the medical group. The position will report to the vice president of physician services and will work collaboratively with hospital staff, nursing, service-line directors and executive leadership to promote the coordination of care between inpatient and outpatient services.

 

Responsibilities

Leadership
Oversees the daily operations of the group practice. Participates in development of strategic plans, governance structure and objectives for practice management. Participates, oversees, interprets and recommends changes to all clinical and business operational policies and procedures. Maintains compliance with governmental regulations and industry requirements. Participates in the evolution and refinement of quality improvement processes.

Budgeting/ Cost Awareness
Creates and adheres to realistic budgets in a manner that helps achieve the organization’s objectives. Demonstrates ongoing awareness of budget levels. Enhances operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment and high-quality patient care. Assists in achieving operating and financial objectives, supporting quality of service initiatives, adapting to technology and regulatory changes, and responding effectively to patient, physician, employee and organizational needs.

Managing Employee Performance
Ensures that employees fully understand their roles, responsibilities, and performance standards/expectations. Resolves problems related to staffing. Participates in recruitment and retention of professional and nonprofessional staff. Evaluates performance and recommends improvement, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Develops and implements a formal departmental staff orientation, training, and ongoing development plan to ensure all staff achieve and maintain the highest levels of competence.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Minimum five years of health care management experience at the senior-management level.

Medium Work
Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. forces constantly.

 

Education 

• Master's Degree (Required) Master’s degree in health care administration, business administration, or public administration.
