Summary:
The Emergency Department Patient Access Specialist is responsible for accurately identifying patients and conducting detailed registration interviews including capturing demographic, insurance and contact information in a high volume, 24/7 Emergency Department. Patient Access Specialist are exposed to varying levels of acuity, disease and sensitive patient and visitor situations impacting populations of all ages and backgrounds.
Per diem – flexible and varied schedule. Availability for 3–4 shifts per month required. Shift days and times vary and may include first, second, or third shift. Ideal for candidates seeking a flexible, as-needed schedule with no guaranteed hours.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- License/Certifications: N/A
- Experience: Minimum of six months experience in healthcare.
- Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Computer and data entry experience is required with Microsoft Word, e-mail, and internet communication, as well as the ability to work accurately and effectively with electronic systems.
