Job Description
Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PET/CT)
Location: Mission Viejo, CA
Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)
Shift: Day Shift – 4x10 Hours (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Hours: 40 Hours/Week
We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT/PET Tech) to join a dynamic imaging team in an acute care setting. The technologist will primarily perform PET imaging while supporting Nuclear Medicine procedures as needed. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging, patient safety, and adherence to clinical protocols.
Responsibilities- Perform PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures according to established protocols
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
- Operate imaging equipment and ensure optimal image quality
- Monitor patient condition during procedures and respond appropriately
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely image transfer to PACS
- Follow radiation safety, infection control, and departmental policies
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams for optimal patient care
- Maintain equipment, perform quality checks, and ensure proper functionality
- Float between PET and Nuclear Medicine departments as required
- Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine experience required
- Minimum 6 months of PET experience required (mandatory)
- First-time travelers accepted with 2+ years of total experience
- ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) or NMTCB certification required
- Active California State License required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA required
- Strong knowledge of PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine procedures
- Experience with Siemens equipment preferred
- Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Variable start times between 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
- 4x10-hour or 5x8-hour schedule based on department needs
- Weekend requirements may exceed every other weekend
- On-call responsibilities required (post-shift and rotating weekends)
- Floating between departments as needed
