A healthcare facility in Machias, ME is seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician to support Operating Room services by ensuring proper decontamination, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

• Perform decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments using gas and steam autoclaves

• Conduct and document daily biological and chemical testing of sterilization equipment

• Inspect autoclaves for proper operation and identify visible malfunctions

• Assemble, wrap, and prepare surgical instrument trays for sterilization

• Follow manufacturer guidelines for cleaning and processing instruments and equipment

• Clean and sterilize endoscopy scopes

• Apply aseptic techniques in all assigned tasks

• Store processed supplies and equipment according to established protocols

• Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation

• Assist with training and onboarding of new staff

• Receive, distribute, and manage surgical supply requisitions

• Order departmental supplies as needed

• Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives

• Comply with safety policies, Code of Conduct, and all regulatory requirements

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)

• Certified Endoscope Re-processor (CER)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
