Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Schedule: 36 hours per week | All Night Shifts | Every Other Weekend | Rotating Holidays

Job Summary\n

Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.

Job Responsibilities\n

  • Administers patient care under the direction of a physician.
  • \n
  • Identifies and pursues expected patient outcomes in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • \n
  • Reports and records the plan of care, nursing care provided, and patient response to treatment.
  • \n
  • Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
  • \n
  • Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient and family needs.
  • \n
  • Consults appropriate resources regarding patients with complex care issues, specialized teaching needs, and high-risk discharge planning.
  • \n
  • Collaborates with peers in a clinical operations environment while promoting effective intra/interdepartmental communication.
  • \n
  • Synthesizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for patient care, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
  • \n
  • Assesses and anticipates discharge needs of patients and families.
  • \n
  • Communicates with patients and families to develop and update the plan of care using cultural competency and active listening.
  • \n
  • Builds relationships with patients and families that promote advocacy and support.
  • \n
  • Develops clinical and operational excellence through education and training.
  • \n
  • Promotes a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment while following infection prevention and standard precautions.
  • \n
  • Maintains competency in required clinical skills and completes annual competency assessments.
  • \n
  • Adheres to hospital policies, procedures, and processes.
  • \n
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications\n

Required:

\n
    \n
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in North Carolina or a compact state by the start of clinical care.
  • \n
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • \n
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • \n
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • \n
\n

Preferred:

\n
    \n
  • Minimum one (1) year of Registered Nurse experience in an acute care/inpatient hospital setting.
  • \n
\n

Additional Information:

    \n
  • Some units may require ACLS certification prior to providing patient care.
  • \n
  • Training and certification opportunities may be provided.
