Job Description
Golden Rain Foundation (GRF) is seeking part-time, unarmed Security Officers to help maintain a safe and secure environment within the Leisure World Seal Beach community. Security Officers are responsible for actively patrolling the community, directing traffic, responding to resident and visitor needs, and providing professional customer service both in person and by phone.
About the Role:
The Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees and visitors within the community. This position involves monitoring access points, conducting regular patrols, and responding promptly to any security incidents or emergencies. The Security Officer ensures compliance with established security protocols and collaborates with law enforcement or emergency personnel when necessary. By utilizing technology and effective communication, the officer helps prevent unauthorized access, theft, and vandalism. Ultimately, this role contributes to creating a secure atmosphere that supports the smooth operation of the organization and peace of mind for all stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a security guard or in a related security role.
- Proficiency with intermediate computer skills and wireless technology.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and repetitive motions.
- Strong oral communication skills and experience with radio communication devices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in security or law enforcement training.
- Experience with advanced access control systems and surveillance technology.
- First aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with emergency response procedures and protocols.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control access to buildings and property using access control systems and wireless communication devices.
- Conduct routine patrols on foot, including climbing stairs and inspecting premises to detect and deter suspicious activities.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, coordinating with emergency services as needed.
- Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and irregularities such as equipment or property damage.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, management, and visitors using oral and radio communication methods.
