✨ Join a High-Volume Cardiac Surgery Team

We are seeking an experienced CVOR RN (MUST SCRUB) to join a fast-paced cardiovascular surgical team. This role is ideal for confident nurses with strong hands-on experience in open heart procedures.

🚨 Key Requirements

• BLS Certification – Required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience
• Must have strong scrubbing experience
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips
• First-time travelers accepted

🏥 Unit Overview

• Department: CVOR
• 4 Operating Suites
• Cases per day: 4–6 surgeries
• EMR: Cerner
• Support Staff: CSTs (Surgical Techs), Charge Nurse oversight

🔍 Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist in cardiac surgical procedures
• Support surgeries such as:
  • CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft)
  • Valve repairs/replacements
  • Other open heart procedures (no thoracic cases)
• Maintain sterile field and ensure OR safety protocols
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR team
• Monitor patient status and assist in intraoperative care

📅 Schedule & Call Requirements

• 8-hour varied shifts
• Overnight call: ~1x per week
• Weekend coverage: 3 shifts/month (~1.5 weekends)
• Call required if cases run long
• Holiday rotation with core staff

🏥 Facility Support

• Surgeons available 24/7 (on-call after hours)
• RT & Pharmacy available 24/7
• Telemetry monitoring required
• Vent experience available (not required)

🎓 Orientation

• 1–2 days OR orientation with preceptor

👕 Dress Code

• Scrubs provided
