School Based Mental Health Clinician

Family Outreach Center (FOC) is hiring for a full- time master’s level therapist (LLMSW, LMSW, LLPC, LPC, etc.) that is based at Kelloggsville Middle School to provide outpatient therapy and psycho-educational groups in the school setting.

Position Details: This is a year-round position in a school office setting.  No weekends, late nights, or on-call. Primarily, your schedule follows the typical school hours; however, there should be flexibility to meet the needs of the client and family.  Your caseload are students from the school.  You complete the necessary intake/assessment and treatment planning with the student and their parent/guardian.  Sessions are determined based upon the needs from the assessment and treatment plan.  On average students are seen 2-4 times per month for 53 minutes. Group therapy may take place as clinically appropriate.  Summer responsibilities change slightly to include staff trainings, mental health disseminations, and preparing for the next school year.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. assessing mental health and substance use disorders using the DSM-5 diagnostic code;
2. incorporating and maintaining a person/family centered treatment planning approach with adolescents/families;
3. developing and implementing clinical interventions appropriate to the identified needs of the adolescent and family;
4. providing referrals for psychiatric, community, and other supportive services;
5. capable of working independently while maintaining an active case load;
6. ability to complete all required clinical reports within deadlines
7. Partner with school staff and administration to address mental health needs and increase access to service, and create a positive mental health culture within the school.
8. Other duties as requested/delegated by supervisor/director.

Requirement for application:

Education: Master’s (required)

License: LLMSW or LMSW (or equivalent) State Licensure

Other: Bilingual in in Spanish and English preferred but not required.
