Job Summary and Qualifications
The RN Lead Rapid Response provides critical care expertise to all adult patients experiencing unexpected life threating conditions or rapid deterioration using a consultative and supportive approach. Facilitates care until patient is stable or transferred to a higher level of care while the primary nurse retains responsibility. Provides formal and informal education and training to nursing staff as a subject matter expert, mentoring nurses throughout the hospital. Performs delegated medical functions within the nurse practice act, policies, procedures and protocols.
- Provides mentorship/coaching/supervision of staff which may include, but not limited to, performance evaluations and implementation of the corrective action process, participates in the selection of potential new hire candidates within the department, and assist in identifying staff educational needs
- Respond to all codes, to include Code Sepsis, Code White/Code White with TPA, Code STEMI, Code Blue
- Completes appropriate documentation and gathers data following codes and rapid responses
- Evaluates codes and rapid responses for quality indicators to include MEWS scores
- Educates staff based on opportunities identified during evaluation including appropriateness of escalation based on MEWS scores
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
- National Certification Preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years ICU critical care experience required
- Lead/Charge experience highly preferred
- CCRN preferred
