Physical Therapist - Travel Contract - Now Hiring

Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join a home health team in Saluda, VA as a traveling Physical Therapist where you will perform patient evaluations and provide therapeutic services according to physician orders. The role includes supervising and evaluating Physical Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides as assigned. Candidates must be able to evaluate the home environment and participate in in-service education programs. Reliable transportation, a current driver’s license, and agency-required liability insurance are required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Successful completion of a physical therapy program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association, the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, or the committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation.
• Current and unencumbered state license to practice physical therapy in the state of assignment (Virginia license required for work in VA).
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience working in home health or providing skilled physical therapy in accordance with a physician’s plan of care preferred.
• Familiarity with supervising or delegating to Physical Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides preferred.
• Proficiency with basic computer functions including email, internet navigation, and online training platforms.
• Mileage-capable reliable transportation and current driver’s license. Agency-required liability insurance as applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2–3 years of physical therapy experience preferred.
• Experience providing home visits and coordinating discharge plans preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift: Evenings, five 8-hour shifts per week.
• Home health visits and periodic office meetings required.
• Must be available to supervise PTAs and HHA staff as assigned.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide skilled physical therapy in accordance with physician orders. Perform evaluations, develop and update treatment plans, observe and report patient progress, instruct family and agency personnel when appropriate, and coordinate discharge planning. Ensure compliance with state-specific home health therapy regulations and participate in quality improvement and in-service education activities.
