Youth Specialist

Helen’s Hope is currently looking for Residential Youth Specialist to serve the children in our care. A Residential Youth Specialist cares for and supervises the children in the agency’s Residential program by performing home life training, assisting with and participating in the therapeutic activities and completing supportive record-keeping functions. Youth Specialist selected will be required to successfully complete job related training, pass a background check, 21 years of age minimum and have a current valid driver license. We are currently seeking Full-Time and Part-Time candidates for our 2nd-Shift (3p-11p) and 3rd-Shift ( 11p-7a).

Essential Duties

• Care for and ensure children are closely supervised and monitored at all times.
• Assist children with daily life activities.
• Lead, supervise, and participate in recreational activities.
• Properly dispense medication.
• Provide leadership and maintain discipline of children; provide assistance with controlling disruptive behaviors using agency approved methods of de-escalation and crisis intervention.
• Collaborate with other staff in planning for the group or its individual members and participate in making decisions.
• Keep required patient/child records; prepare and write reports.
• Transport children as necessary in an agency vehicle (a current valid drivers license is required).
