Position Overview 

A regional hospital in upstate New York is seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant for a locum assignment offering full-time weekday coverage with structured call responsibilities and strong surgical exposure.

This opportunity is ideal for providers looking for:

• Consistent OR and inpatient experience
• Structured call with additional earning potential
• Long-term assignment stability
• Balanced surgical and floor responsibilities

Assignment Highlights

• Full-time coverage (4 weeks/month, Tuesday–Friday)
• OR first assist plus surgical floor coverage
• Robotics experience preferred
• Epic EMR
• Structured call (weeknight and weekend)
• HPA Healthcare is a Joint Commission–certified agency and active NALTO member
• Prepaid travel and lodging provided
• Malpractice coverage provided

Schedule & Coverage

• Primary Schedule: Tuesday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Coverage: Full-time (4 weeks/month)

Call Responsibilities

• Weeknight Call: ~4 shifts/month (5:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekend Call: 1–2 per month (Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM)
• Weekend Rounding: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
