Precision Steel Services is a Toledo-based steel service center that specializes in precision burning, grinding, and machining. We’re looking for a CAD / CAM Operator to join our Operations Data Specialist Team (ODST) — the group that transforms customer drawings into efficient, production-ready burn programs.

If you’re detail-oriented, understand 2D prints, and have experience nesting plate parts for plasma or oxy-fuel cutting, this is a solid opportunity to use your technical skills in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • 2D Drafting & Revision: Create and update part drawings using AutoCAD or DraftSight.
  • CAM Programming & Nesting: Use software to generate optimized nests and cutting programs that improve plate yield and reduce scrap.
  • File Export & Data Management: Prepare accurate files for plasma and oxy-fuel machines, ensuring correct material type, thickness, and part quantity.
  • ERP & Order Accuracy: Maintain order data within our ERP to align with production, shipping, and certification requirements.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Communicate with supervisors and managers to confirm details and support smooth workflow.
  • Continuous Improvement: Help refine nesting standards, templates, and workflow efficiencies within CAD and CAM processes.
  • Administrative tasks: Tasks such as order processing and printing required paperwork

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, DraftSight, and nesting software.
  • Experience creating burn or cutting programs for steel plate or fabrication.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing prints, tolerances, and dimensional accuracy.
  • ERP experience preferred.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production setting while maintaining accuracy.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • US Work Authorization required

Benefits

  • Paid Time Off at 90 days.
  • Join a team that values precision, accountability, and craftsmanship.
  • See your work directly impact throughput and quality on the shop floor.
  • Full-time, day shift, on-site role with advancement potential.
  • Competitive pay, benefits, and a company culture built around doing the job right.
  • Attendance and Performance Bonuses.
