APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Sterling Heights, MI looking to add a Manual Machinist their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to operate manual machining equipment such as Bridgeport mills and lathes to produce precision parts to blueprint specifications with accurate measurements and quality standards. What your day will look like:
- Set up and operate manual machines including Bridgeport mills, lathes, and drill presses
- Machine precision parts to tight tolerances based on blueprints and specifications
- Perform layout work, measurements, and adjustments to ensure accuracy
- Use hand tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Perform brazing and basic metal joining as required
- Inspect finished parts to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy
- Maintain machines, tools, and a clean, organized work area
- Make adjustments and minor repairs to tooling and equipment as needed
What we are looking for:
- 2–5 years of experience as a Manual Machinist
- Strong experience with Bridgeport mills, manual lathes, and machining tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with brazing and metal fabrication techniques
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Proficient in using precision measuring tools
