Prior Authorization MA - Houston Med Center

Dean's Professional Services is now hiring for qualified Prior Authorization Medical Assistant to work in the Houston Med Center for a large Healthcare Organization.

Prior Authorization Medical Assistant Job Details:

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Location: Houston Med Center

Starting Pay Rate: $20.00/ Hourly + (based on experience)

Temporary to hire

Responsibilities:

• Process and submit prior authorization requests in a timely and accurate manner
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits to support authorization requirements
• Communicate with providers, insurance companies, and patients to obtain necessary documentation
• Track and follow up on authorization statuses to prevent delays in patient care
• Maintain accurate records of all authorization activities in the system
• Assist with referrals and coordination of care as needed
• Support clinic operations when required, including rooming patients, taking vitals, and assisting providers
• Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, clinic policies, and regulatory standards
• Provide professional and courteous customer service to patients and staff

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years experience with medication prior authorizations, referrals, or insurance verification required
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
• Flexibility to support both administrative and clinical duties as needed
