Spay/Neuter Clinic Assistant
Full-Time – Great Temp to Hire Opportunity!
1st Shift: Surgeries on Mon, Tues, Wed, and Fridays. There are some occasional Thursdays needed for special projects. Flexible schedule – Open for weekends
Pay Rate: $18/hour

Qualified Candidate Responsibilities:
  • Execute the production schedule and provide training, coaching, and support to employees.
  • Intake and discharge of surgical patients, providing clear and compassionate pre- and post-operative instructions to clients
  • Prepare animals for surgery, including shaving, scrubbing, and maintaining sterile conditions
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist with patient recovery, reporting abnormalities immediately
  • Maintain accurate medical and administrative records
  • Clean and restock surgical areas, kennels, and equipment following infection-control protocols
  • Safely handle and restrain animals, recognizing signs of stress or aggression
  • Train new staff and volunteers on patient care and safety procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all CMACC standard operating procedures
  • Support a positive, team-oriented environment and deliver excellent customer service
Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of experience in veterinary clinics, shelters, or spay/neuter programs preferred (required for anesthesia monitoring and surgical prep)
  • Passion for working with animals and supporting a high-volume surgical clinic
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, lift, and perform repetitive movements
  • Ability to work in areas with exposure to various animal-related conditions (odors, noise, cleaning agents)
  • Comfort handling animals pre- and post-surgery
