Job Description
The Team Lead Caregiver is a senior, highly trusted field leader who bridges the gap between frontline caregiving and agency management. This is not just a caregiving role, it is a systems role. The Team Lead Caregiver is responsible for building and sustaining the agency's caregiving workforce through hands-on training, mentorship, hiring support, continuing education, and direct care coverage. They operate as the clinical and cultural standard-bearer for the agency in the field, ensuring every caregiver they touch delivers exceptional, consistent care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design and facilitate ongoing in-service training sessions to keep caregiving staff current on best practices, care techniques, and agency protocols
• Track and document all continuing education completions and ensure certifications remain active and compliant
• Participate in caregiver candidate interviews, applying field-based expertise to assess real-world caregiving competency
• Maintain a small, manageable caseload of direct caregiving clients to stay connected to frontline service delivery
• Deliver exemplary personal care, companionship, and homemaking services in accordance with client care plans
• Document all visits accurately via the agency's EVV system and report any changes in client condition promptly
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
• Active Connecticut Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or CNA required or MA preferred but not required
• Minimum 2–5 years of direct caregiving experience in a home care setting
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and prior experience mentoring or training peers
• Deep knowledge of non-medical home care service delivery standards and care plan execution
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• Clean background check, excellent agency performance history, and current CPR/First Aid certification
• Reliable transportation and valid Connecticut driver's license required
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a strong asset in serving Connecticut's diverse client population
