Managing Attorney- Plaintiff Personal Injury

The Managing Attorney – Plaintiff Personal Injury position is a leadership role at a busy plaintiff-side personal injury litigation firm located in downtown Manhattan. This fully in-office role involves managing a large legal team and a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is an experienced litigator who can balance hands-on casework with supervising and mentoring staff while ensuring top-quality legal representation and client service.

Responsibilities

• Manage and litigate a high-volume caseload of plaintiff personal injury cases from intake to resolution
• Supervise and mentor a large legal team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff
• Oversee case strategy including pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation
• Conduct court appearances, conferences, and trials as necessary
• Ensure compliance with New York court rules, deadlines, and firm policies
• Evaluate cases for settlement and negotiate with opposing counsel and insurance carriers
• Collaborate with firm leadership on workflow, staffing, and case performance management
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular updates on case progress

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active admission to the New York State Bar

Qualifications

• 10+ years of plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience
• Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
• Prior supervisory or management experience
• Strong trial preparation and litigation skills
• Exceptional leadership and client management abilities
