Wash Plant Operator

Technical / operational skills

• Equipment operation: operate wash plant components (screens, trommels, classifiers, log‐washers, cyclones, conveyors, pumps).
• Plant start‐up/shutdown: safe startup, shutdown, and sequencing of pumps, conveyors, and screens.
• Process control: adjust water flow, screen speeds, feed rates, and recirculation to maintain product specs and minimize loss.
• Routine maintenance: inspect, grease, change wear parts, tighten belts/chains, and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Mechanical aptitude: basic welding, rigging, hydraulic and pneumatic familiarity, ability to read equipment manuals.
• Material handling: understanding of aggregate gradation, feed characteristics, and product stockpiling.
• Sampling & quality control: take samples, perform simple gradation checks, monitor product spec (fines, moisture).
• Electrical/controls basics: read schematic basics, reset starters, troubleshoot simple PLC/HMI issues or alarms (or coordinate with electrician).
