Registered Nurse - Case Manager

Location: Everett, WA

Start Date: 05-04-2026

End Date: 08-03-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Day), 5x8 with every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $68 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate safe, timely discharges by creating and managing individualized plans of care
  • Perform needs assessments and arrange DME and community resources to support transitions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, social services, physicians) to optimize patient flow
  • Use Epic for thorough, timely charting and care documentation
  • Perform utilization review and case management activities in line with CMS/regulatory expectations
  • Float across hospital areas (including Colby and Pacific campuses) to meet patient needs
  • Support acute care units including Med Surg, ED, and ICU with discharge planning expertise
  • Champion patient-centered care and clear communication with patients, families, and post-acute partners

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Current RN (or MSW) credential — RN licensure for Washington required (pending licenses noted in job data)
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care experience (discharge planning / care coordination required)
  • Experience with Epic charting system required
  • Comfort managing high patient ratios and utilization review (patient ratio experience listed as 1:25-30)
  • Willingness to work every other weekend and float to multiple hospital areas/campuses
  • Strong communication, assessment, and care coordination skills; prior case management or utilization review experience preferred
Education
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Master of Social Work (MSW) credential
Knowledge & Skills
  • Discharge planning and care coordination
  • Case management and utilization review (CMS regulatory familiarity)
  • Epic electronic health record proficiency
  • Needs assessment and arranging DME
  • Experience in acute hospital settings (Med Surg, LLOS, ED, ICU preferred)
  • Ability to work with varied patient populations (neonates through geriatrics)
  • Collaborative interdisciplinary teamwork and patient advocacy
