Requirements

  • Provide rapid assessment and compassionate emergency care to patients of all ages
  • Perform triage and stabilization for critically ill or injured patients
  • Serve as charge nurse when assigned, coordinating patient flow and staff assignments
  • Precept and mentor new nurses to maintain a strong, confident ED team
  • Administer medications, start and manage IV therapy, and perform interventions per protocol
  • Document thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record
  • Collaborate with physicians, techs, and ancillary services to ensure timely, high-quality care
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives
Qualifications
  • Active RN license in the State of Maine (required)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
  • PALS is a plus
  • Previous Emergency Department nursing experience (required)
  • Previous charge nurse and preceptor experience (required)
  • Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and flexible with occasional schedule adjustments
